What time does the school day start and end? 

​Richmond International start their school day promptly at 9:00 a.m.  and

ends at 16:00p.m.

 

Could I drop off my child earlier in the morning?

To accommodate parents working timetables children can be dropped off

from 8:30 a.m. at an additional fee.


At what time is the lunch break?
The lunch break is at 12:00


Do you cater for different dietary needs?
Thanks to our catering we are able to accommodate to most dietary

needs.


Is lunch compulsory at the school?
Yes, we encourage children to have a healthy diet.

 

Does the school run an after school programme?
Yes, the after school club runs from 16:00 until 19:30.


What school supplies will my child need?

A list of the school supplies is sent to parents in the parent handbook.

 

What is the dress code policy?

Richmond students wear a school uniform available for purchase at "El Corte Inglés" in Diagonal. In order to see the required items please click on Uniform on the Menu bar above.


How can I stay up-to-date on how my child is doing, school events, and local activities?

Reports and teacher meetings are available at the end of each term.

The weekly school newsletter, Facebook or instagram will also reinforce school activities and events.

Does the school accept students with little or no English?

In 2013 the schol admitted children with no level of English.

 

From 2015 we take children with no English between the ages of 3 and 6. There are a limited number of places for non-English speaking Primary pupils between the ages of 6 and 9 of proven academic ability. From the ages of 9 onwards all pupils must have a high level of English or join the EFL program.

 

What is the student-teaher ratio at the school?.

The maximum class size is  24 students. The average class size is 16 students, except in Early Years where we have a ratio of 13:1 including asistants.

What is the ratio of international students at the school?

​45% Catalan 65% other Nationalities.

 

Are the teachers British? 

​All academic staff teaching the English National Curriculum are English speaking teachers or, in the case of French, Spanish and Catalan, native speaker.

Will my child attend Spanish and Catalan lessons?

Yes, all pupils at Richmond Internatinal school take Spanish and Catalan lessons.

What other languages are available? 

You may study French, German or Chinese at an additional fee.

​

Is Religious Education part of the curriculum? 

As a multicultural school we introduce our students to different religions and cultures and encourage British values.

We do celebrate Christian traditions such as Nativity plays and Carol singing among others.

How much homework is set? 

​This depends on the age of the pupil.

As a general rule children use a homework diary to note down any tasks to remember.

Homework is set on Fridays in the Primary department and daily in Secondary.

​

What official examinations will students take at the school? 

The school plans to hold examinations such as IGCSE, GCSE A Level, KET, PET, FCE, CAE, CPE. 

​

Which Universities will my child be able to attend after completing his studies at Richmond? After attending Richmond International and upon completion of A levels your child will be able to attend either British or Spanish Universities. Regulations mean that our students don't sit the Spanish PAU (SELECTIVIDAD).
